The next hurdle is to ascertain how the Council propose to deal with the infrastructure and in this respect there will be a meeting to discuss the area around North Station on

North Station Master Plan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD)
Public Consultation 25 February – 26 March 2010
Colchester Borough Council is now inviting representations on the North Station Master Plan Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The SPD will help guide future development and identifies potential improvements in the North Station area of Colchester. When finished, the document will form part of Colchester’s Local Development Framework and be used to inform subsequent planning decisions.
The consultation period will run from Thursday 25 February 2010 until 5pm on Friday 26 March 2010.

Supplementary Planning Documents were introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004) and are part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) system of planning. They amplify policies or proposals contained in the adopted Core Strategy and the emerging Development Policies and Site Allocations Development Plan Documents (DPDs). Once adopted SPD’s will be taken into account when determining planning applications.
