Myland & Braiswick Neighbourhood Plan - Update

In connection with the above it has become apparent that some Braiswick Residents may believe that the Neighbourhood Plan is responsible for putting forward proposals for housing development on 3 sites in Braiswick (i. south of the Golf Club, ii. north of Achnacone Drive and iii. St Botolph's Farm by the A12 bridge). This is not the case. These sites in fact feature in the list of potential development sites put forward in Colchester Council's draft Local Plan covering the period 2017-2032. This is currently in the public consultation stage (see item below dated 22 July 2016).

As Peter Hewitt, Chair of Myland Community Council describes it, "the Neighbourhood Plan…is focusing on a vision of the future for Myland and Braiswick based on feedback from 800 Myland and Braiswick residents."

During October 2015 a ‘Submission Version’ of the Neighbourhood Plan was formally endorsed by both Myland Community Council & the Braiswick Residents' Association at their respective Committee Meetings.

The Neighbourhood Plan is now in its final form and remains available to view on the BRA website. It was programmed to be submitted to Colchester Borough Council in November 2015 for a 6 week period of consultation with the Statutory Bodies.
